The Monti District is one of the most popular areas of Rome. It's crossed by Via Cavour, bordered by the Imperial Fora, and reaches the Esquilino hill, a short walk from the magnificent basilicas of S.M. Maggiore and S.P. in Vincoli. Famous for the narrow streets and the original cobblestones, the old and modern shops, the fashionable boutiques, the characteristic restaurants, is the district of wineries and art galleries. The majestic Flavian Amphitheatre, with its immense size, more commonly known as the Colosseum, is the largest amphitheatre in the world and the largest building in ancient Rome that has come down to us. Hidden in the beautiful district of Monti in Rome, in the characteristic Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome, there is the statue of Moses: a marble sculpture by Michelangelo (circa 1513). Famous all over the world for the anecdote related to the sculptor annoyed because that statue did not speak so much was perfect. Not everyone also knows that the horns on the head of Moses would come from a wrong translation of the Book of Exodus in which it is said that he had two rays on his forehead: the word "karan" (rays), may have been confused with "keren" (horns).
