The iH Hotels Group wins the CAPITAL ELITE award.
The China Awards are an annual prize that celebrates Italian companies that have successfully seized the opportunities offered by the Chinese market, as well as Chinese companies that have effectively capitalized on the potential of the Italian market.
The goal of the event is to highlight the importance of internationalization for both Italian and Chinese companies, emphasizing the benefits derived from the flow of capital, people, ideas, goods, and services between Italy and China.
The event is held in partnership with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China and is sponsored by the Italo-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
The award ceremony will be held online, thanks to a collaboration with Class Editori, and will consist of a live broadcast on the Class CNBC channel. During this event, our hotel group will be introduced, and an interview will be conducted with our CEO, Dr. Francesco Hu.
iH Hotels is a young hotel brand, present in major cities and tourist destinations in Italy, with a range of hotels offering diverse characteristics: 28 4- and 5-star hotels and resorts from Northern to Southern Italy.
The group was founded in 2014 in Milan through the synergy of two Italian-Chinese families who seized the opportunity to start a business in the expanding tourism sector, coinciding with the upcoming opening of Expo 2015. Today, the group manages a total of 28 properties, both directly and indirectly, primarily in four Italian cities (Milan, Florence, Rome, and Bari), ranging from 3-star superior to 5-star luxury. In 2018, iH Hotels expanded its collection with the acquisition of the Piazza di Spagna View group, covering the entire Italian territory with City Hotels, Studios, Luxury Hotels, and Resorts. The group now has 2,352 rooms, 63 studios, 10 destinations, and a team of over 500 direct employees, with offices in Milan, Rome, and various hotels, and a turnover of 70 million euros.
The development is based on centralizing the management, commercial, revenue, booking, and administrative activities in the main office in Milan. Furthermore, it has created three macro areas: North Area, Central Area, and South Area, each with its own functions such as Revenue Area, Centralized Booking, Area Sales, and Purchasing Office.
Synergy with China is always present, not only for leisure travel, but also for significant collaboration. On March 18, 2020, during the peak of the pandemic in Italy, iH Hotels immediately offered to accommodate and host a team of specialized doctors from Zhejiang province, the area in China with the largest community of Chinese nationals living in Italy. The medical team arrived with equipment and materials to provide technical and operational support to fight the Coronavirus and assist Italy in overcoming the challenges of the epidemic. This collaboration adds to a series of initiatives that strengthen the relationship between Italy and China. It’s also important to remember that 2020 was designated as the year for international cooperation in tourism and culture between Italy and China. iH Hotels had previously participated in many initiatives of the Italy-China Foundation, with Dr. Francesco Hu serving as an advisor to the Italo-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
The award ceremony will take place on December 14th from 10 AM to 12 PM live on the Class CNBC channel from Class Editori. It will be a special television segment featuring video interviews with the winning companies, experts on bilateral relations, and special guests.
The China Awards ceremony is dedicated to Italian and Chinese companies, associations, and personalities that have best embraced the exchange opportunities between the two countries.
