COVID-19: HELP ARRIVES FROM CHINA – IH HOTELS HOSTS 12 DOCTORS IN MILAN
On March 18, a Chinese delegation of healthcare professionals will arrive, bringing masks, suits, gloves, and, most importantly, the necessary experience to fight the Coronavirus and support Italy in overcoming the challenges of the epidemic.
The iH Hotels group immediately made itself available to welcome and host the team of specialized doctors arriving from Zhejiang, the province of the People's Republic of China, which is home to most of the Chinese community residing in Italy.
The twelve experts, arriving on March 18, 2020 at 4:30 PM in Italy to support our country and bring essential equipment for combating the health emergency, will be hosted at iH Hotels Milano Lorenteggio, one of the 10 iH-branded hotels in Milan. They will be welcomed by Mauro Troisi, General Manager of iH Hotels Group, and Dr. Tony Wen, President of the Chinese Association of Wencheng in Italy and founding partner of iH Hotels Group.
The Chinese medical team will also bring 30 sets of intensive care equipment: ventilators, monitors, double-channel infusion pumps, 2 sets of portable color ultrasound machines, 60,000 laboratory test reagents, and 9 tons of protective materials and commonly used medicines to fight the virus. With these materials, the total amount of epidemic prevention items donated by China since the beginning of the epidemic in Italy reaches 35.4 tons.
Having lived through the same experience and understanding the pain of what is happening, the technical and scientific support from the Chinese medical staff symbolizes humanity and solidarity with Italy: only through mutual help and unity of effort will it be possible to overcome this difficult time. The doctors will bring to the front line their experience and all the necessary equipment to support their Italian colleagues in the common fight against Covid-19, the virus that has severely affected Italy since February 2020. The hope is that China’s constructive example, which was the first to fight and overcome the epidemic, can help Italy eliminate it as soon as possible.

The collaboration adds to a series of initiatives that strengthen the bond between our country and China. We must not forget that 2020 was presented as the year of international cooperation in the tourism and cultural sectors between Italy and China.
