Inspired by Travel
Architect Alessandro Corti drew inspiration from his travels, particularly to New York and Bordeaux, blending modern Scandinavian design influences to reimagine the spaces at iH Hotels Milano Ambasciatori into a lively rooftop right in the heart of Milan. Conceived in 2018, the project gradually took shape in 2019, with its grand opening in September 2020. “I named it Sun Eleven as a tribute to my wife, Yusun Jang, a fashion designer who played a key role in its creation,” the architect shared in an interview.
Creativity and Vision
The rooftop was originally planned to be a panoramic suite, but the ingenuity and creativity of Architect Corti convinced Francesco Hu, CEO of iH Hotels Group, to transform it into an exceptional venue. Additionally, the indoor facilities, including the restroom and a small storage area, were cleverly repurposed from a former water cistern.
The Sun Eleven Rooftop is far more than just a bar; it’s a space to experience Milan from above, immersed in a vibrant and sophisticated atmosphere. Combining taste, design, and breathtaking views, it has become a must-see destination in the heart of the city.
